So many choices for wedding hair, up, down, half up-half down….then there is not only the bride to think about but the bridemaids and flowers girls too (if you are having any of course)

For my wedding day I chose hair up with lots of sparkly/twisty things-from Claire’s Accessories, all for a bargain price of £2.50, ah and then I bought some for the bridemaids too so it ended up at around £10 for us all to have some spangle. The little cubic zirconia pieces sparkled and matched my jewellery on the day was so I was totally happy.

Another thought I had for the day was having my hair curled and then a hairband-sparkly/flowery/both. The only reason I didn’t go with this option was because my hair is usually up and everyone recognises me this way, I didn’t want to go all out and get different wedding hair to be a totally different me on my big day.

A snazzy little tip I found for different wedding hair is to place your tiara backwards, at the back of your head just above say two plaits meeting in the middle, it looks fabulous and depending on the tiara can look very lavish.

My stylist told me when having my wedding hair up it would be best to leave it unwashed for as long as poss with my hair as then it stays up better. Thankfully my hair is really thick and lasts at least four days without a wash, I left it this long, she was right, it went up really well and my wedding hair looked fab.

There are many ways you can plan a wedding on a budget.

Favours for favours are always a great way to get a wedding on a budget. My husband is a website designer and we managed to create a website for our wedding cars and a website for the pub/restaurant where we had our reception and then pay the outstanding balance.

We asked my friend and photographer to be our wedding photographer and we gave him some cash for doing so and then bought our prints through him.

The church usually ask for a donation if you marry there. I made a sketch of the church and gave them a copy as part of our donation and then a little cash too, it all helps if you have a skill you can use, then use it! Or you could arrange a fund-raising event for the church, they will be appreciative that you have made some effort towards the church.

Flowers for the day can be picked and dried, especially for flower girls to scatter petals. We then used pretty buckets and pots we already had at home to put the petals in and just placed a pretty colour match bow around to fit in with our theme but doesn’t have to look like a wedding on a budget.

Place cards are so easy to make, a piece of card with some texture and a calligraphy pen works wonders. Our friends used leaves and wrote our names on them in silver and gold pen, they looked fab.

Little things make big differences to a wedding on a budget. The wedding which springs to mind for me is our friends who hired a marquee and toilet for their own garden and had really useful bits in the toilet…..sanitary towels for the ladies, some mini deodrants (for sweaty guests hehe-those who really got into  dancing did appreciate this!)

One of the most amazing wedding dresses I have seen was actually bought from eBay! A true wedding on a budget. The bride looked stunning in a red and cream dress with a wonderful train, all for £120, much cheaper than your average dress which I believe costs at least £700, I paid £600 for mine but only because I bargained the shop down from £1000. Remember if you are planning a wedding on a budget you can do this too, if the shop have a dress in stock that fits chances are they will drop their price, don’t be afraid to ask.

EBay is key to cheapness for your wedding on a budget I bought my hoop for my dress on there and my veil too-the shop were going to charge £100 and I got mine from China for £6! The quality was not amazing but it looked just as good and at the end of the day you are only wearing it for one day! I know you want your wedding day to be special but your life afterwards will not be as fun and carefree if you have debts and do not plan your wedding on a budget!
